Where do we draw the line?

I was looking at the fantastic story of Ronnie Coleman today and what he did in the history of Mr. Olympia, I don’t believe we can see another person as great as Ronnie because he won Mr. Olympia eight times consecutively, which is something that it is almost impossible to be replicated. I know records are meant to be broken, but if you want to break records like that, you have to do the impossible because there is always a price to pay to win Mr. Olympia eight times in a row. When I think about it, seems impossible. What it means is, you are competing with the best every year and you are winning every year. There is a price for such achievement and it is only hard work.

The price Ronnie has to pay is his leg because a video on YouTube shows he has not been able to work. He even mentioned in an interview that he has had 13 surgeries and had spent millions of dollars but still doesn’t have his leg back. That is the price he has to pay, but when you look at this kind of price it came from the fact that he pushes himself too much, and I don’t believe there is a crime in trying to push ourselves too much. There is always a time we should be able to draw the line and there is no manual for us to know where to draw the line. Sometimes people use the instinct that they have had enough for this reason nobody knows the perfect time to draw the line.

    We might not know

Ronnie was just trying to do what he knew how to do best and in the process he lost his leg. I know that most people might be saying it did too much but how are we sure that what we are also doing in our life today is not too much, how do we know that what we are doing now won't have consequences in the nearest future, how can we tell that the price we are paying for our success won't be too much later in the future. It is easy to say people are doing too much but how can we know where to draw the line? If you want to put your name in the book of history, you have to do what other people have not done before, which means you have to push yourself but there’s also a limit to what your body can take.

The limit our body can take is what we don’t know, most people stop because they feel fulfilled and they believe they’ve had enough and it might also mean they did not push themselves enough to reach another height. Not pushing yourself enough only means that you are killing your potential, but if you push yourself too much, the price might be too much. I always believe that there is always a price to pay, some prices you know and some you don’t know, but irrespective of what the price might be just pray that it’s worth it. For Ronnie, I believe that the price that he is paying now is worth it because you remember for life.

    Pay it

There is always a price for success. Just pray you have what it takes for you to pay them. Sometimes, the most painful part in life is wanting to be successful in a particular field but you don’t know the price to pay. When you know the price to pay for success and if it’s not too much pay and live with the consequences.

    Thanks for your time.
