Got a few things to do today - it is my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. Could not cope with the shopping pressure the day before - took the chance to get a walk in to walk the steps and then to shops to finish that task
First up photos if geraniums - not enough of those to make a theme for the day
Bougainvillea brings purple into the theme
Walked through the park where the tennis courts are - council has put some nice flowers in - purple to start
Azaleas are the colour of spring - white
Pink
Two tone and frills
Dark pink
A lighter pink. Chatted to the blokes playing tennis - they play social tennis each weekend. Will make a plan to join them
A different two tone pink
Still a few camellias going
Grand old house on the way back past the station. Not photographed before as light was always in the wrong place
Sulphur crested cockatoo feeding on the ground and not too worried about the photo shoot
Got the shopping done - a few nice gins and a cold bottle of Champagne for dinner
As for dinner: Chicken tagine - first for a while - brown the seasoned chicken - a bit of Cajun
The heart of tagine cooking are seasoning and some liquid and layering
Art of layering is to create a base that keeps the chicken off the bottom of the tagine - onion, cinnamon quills, star anise and cardamom down below with saffron and chicken stock
Like this - then begins the layering of veges and dried fruit
Sweet potato, zucchini, dried apricot, dates, leek, sliced garlic. Then let the steam work
Served normally with couscous - did quinoa instead
