Lent is a special liturgical period in the Christian tradition that lasts approximately forty days and precedes the celebration of Easter.

During this time, the faithful are immersed in a season of reflection, penance and spiritual renewal.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and concludes on Holy Thursday. During these weeks, believers are invited to examine their lives, repent of their sins and seek greater closeness to God.

It is a time for introspection and spiritual growth.

One of the most common practices during Lent is fasting. The faithful may choose to abstain from certain foods or reduce their consumption.

Fasting helps them to focus on the spiritual and to renounce worldly comforts.

It also invites them to be mindful of those who suffer deprivation and to practise solidarity with the less fortunate.

In addition to fasting, Lent also calls them to prayer and charity. Prayer brings them closer to God and enables them to strengthen their relationship with Him.

It is a time to seek divine guidance, inner peace and spiritual strength. Charity, on the other hand, urges them to be generous to others, to help those in need and to promote justice and compassion in the world.
