I am so happy that a pen House has been constructed right in our compound here for rearing goats 🐐🐐. In case you have followed my blog you must have seen me lamenting about how these goats and chickens have made it very difficult for me to keep a garden here.
The chickens most especially have dug holes right in the bed where I have planted some veggies seeds about a week ago. They have used their legs to spread and scatter everything here, this must have been part of what has disrupted the veggies seeds from germinating.
I'm not usually at home to keep them off all the time, it's about 7days now since I planted some veggies and though none of it is yet to germinate I want to give it a few more day before replanting the veggies.
The goats on the other hand have been feeding on these potatoes vegetations I have been trying to preserve for next year planting. I'm actually just so lucky that they haven't eating that all up.
Having complained to neighbors about this and imploring them to keep their animals so that we can equally have a vegetable farm in the compound.
Also we got an iron bar in between the small gate in the compound separating my own side of the vegetable bed from where these animals would be staying.
There is a technique to building a poultry pen for the birds. It will require some extra cost for nets land and probably a storey structure where their droppings can be separated from where they stay. This is the reason that is on hold. But hopefully that will also be built here so that these animals won't interfere with my farm.
If it became possible for me to get a property of my own, structures like this will always be in place too for both gardening and rearing of animals as someone who is passionate about mixed farming 🧺 🧺 🧺 I would need to purchase new seeds and replant my vegetables after giving these a few more days to see if it will germinate or not.
