Hello family of the Hive Collectors corner, today I want to give my contribution, following the challenge proposed by @mipiano for this month of February.
Show a collection of own Musical Instruments, is something that is not usual to have in the abode of many families.
When I was a kid I had some instruments at home, I loved to play the drums, and the neighbors sometimes complained to my parents about the noise it caused. Later I moved on to the saxophone, accordion and even several philharmonics.
This interest in music and instruments aroused my curiosity to try to see inside them and why they sounded. In the end, I ended up breaking them following my investigative spirit.
The challenge made it clear that we could use our creativity to showcase musical instruments. So I share with you what little I have at home, as well as other instruments that sprout from human improvisation.
The purpose of a musical instrument is to produce a sound or sound vibration that is transmitted through the air, and is captured by our auditory senses for interpretation at the level of the nervous system and our emotions.
Each person reacts individually to a type of sound. Some may like one genre of music, others a different one.
The circumstances of the moment make us choose which sound is more harmonious than another. There are several variables that are in play to achieve a particular result.
Instruments can be stringed, wind, percussion and electric; and to introduce you to some of these, I leave you with Arlenis, my son Andres' girlfriend.
Maracas. Precussion instrument
These maracas have been at home for more than 20 years. They were given to my mother by a musical group on one of her trips to the province of Pinar del Río.
These handmade maracas are made of güira, and it is a percussion instrument that was used by the aborigines in their spiritual rituals. It is frequently used in our country by peasant musical bands.
Guitar. Stringed instrument
As a stringed instrument, the guitar has worldwide prominence. It gives us its sound, when the person strums the strings to make them vibrate, amplified inside a wooden body.
In this case, she is carrying a classical guitar with nylon strings.
Deejay (DJ) turntable. Electric instrument
One of the most used instruments in the international discotheques is the turntable. The sound of a vinyl with that scratch, makes us feel the high fidelity of analog music and enjoy the hits of the 80's and the current ones.
This equipment of the Japanese brand Technics, model SL-1200MK2, is considered the leading turntable, for its great construction, and the most famous worldwide, according to the Djs community.
We see Arlenis moving the acetate disc to achieve the sound of Scratching, and feel the delay or advance of the track played. You can change the speed of the music via the Pitch slider. Monitor the sound, using the legendary Sony MDR-7506 studio headphones.
The voice. Wind instrument
The voice, as a vocal instrument, is also a wind instrument. It is created by the vibration of the vocal cords of the person, which resonate in the cavities of the head and its upper respiratory system.
Through singing, we enjoy very specific tones and of diverse gradation, which give the different types of voice that exist.
A singer's voice must be captured by a studio quality microphone, which then passes through audio processing equipment, equalization, compression, power amplifiers, before we can hear it in the speakers.
Here she sings using a tripod with a RØDE NT1 cardioid condenser microphone and its Antipop accessory. A prestigious reference brand, capable of recording vocals and musical instruments with pristine quality.
Improvised Percussion Instruments
Folks, here's my creative side. When we don't have real musical instruments, we can always have a good time, using utensils that every family has at home.
They will not give the best sound, but they will sound according to the type of material used, and the mastery with which we know how to use them.
In the end, it is important to spend a pleasant moment at home, among friends or wherever we feel the impulse to do so.
Sound is vibration, everything that exists vibrates at certain frequencies. So we wander on the path of life embraced by an eternal sound.
Thanks to those who read me. I wish you a nice weekend.
