How to Plant Rice
To get quality rice plants, of course you need a good and correct method of planting rice and a planting process, what preparations need to be taken into account when cultivating rice plants. Following are several steps in how to plant rice that must be paid attention to in order to cultivate rice until the harvest is as follows:
Preparation of planting media
Planting media for planting rice must be prepared at least two weeks before planting. Preparation is done by cultivating the soil as a planting medium. The land must be ensured to be free from weeds and wild grass. Don't let the growth of rice plants be disturbed because they have to share nutrients and water with wild grasses. If it is free from wild plants, moisten the soil with water then plow it. Plowing is done to prepare the soil in a soft and loose condition and suitable for planting. In this modern era, plowing is no longer done by hoeing but by using cows or tractors. After plowing, flood the planting medium with water again. Water is given in large quantities to cover the entire land with a height of up to 10 cm. Let the water in the planting medium continue to stagnate. Stagnant water for two weeks will cause the planting medium to become muddy and the poison will disappear because it is neutralized.
Selection of seeds
Rice seeds must go through testing first to determine their quality. The test was carried out by soaking around 100 rice seeds in water. After two hours check the seeds. The way to plant rice seeds is by examining the seeds by identifying changes in the seeds. If there are more than 90 seeds or more than 90 of them sprout, then it means the seeds are of superior quality and of high quality. Of course, seeds of superior quality and high quality are worthy of cultivation. After determining which seeds will be used as seedlings, seeding can be done immediately.
Nursery
Seeding is carried out after determining superior seeds. The superior seeds will then be sown in a nursery container. The seedbed container must first be prepared. The need for seedling containers is given in a ratio of 1: 20. For example, if you want to use 1 hectare of rice field, the seedbed container will be around 500 m2. The land in the nursery container must also be watery and muddy. Apply urea fertilizer and TSP fertilizer to the nursery at a dose of 10 grams per 1 m2 each. When the seedbed is ready, spread the germinated seeds evenly.
Planting
The planting process is carried out after the seeds in the nursery process have grown three to four perfect leaves. The time period from seeding to seedlings ready for planting is generally around 12 to 14 days. When you are ready to plant, move the seeds from the seedling area to the planting area. Removal is done carefully and does not damage the plant. Planting is carried out in prepared planting holes. Especially for rice plants, two seeds can be planted in one hole at once. Planting is done by inserting the roots into an L shape so that the roots can grow perfectly. The depth to which the seeds are planted is determined to range from 1 cm to 15 cm. Land care
Treatment is done with three things, namely weeding, watering and fertilizing. Weeding is done by keeping the land clean from disturbing plants. Weeding must be done regularly every certain period of time. Can be done once every two weeks or once every three weeks. Irrigation is provided as needed. As with other plants, make sure there is no shortage or excess of water. Next, fertilization is done for the first time after the rice plants are one week old. The types of fertilizer given are urea fertilizer at a dose of 100 kg per hectare and TPS fertilizer at a dose of 50 kg per hectare. The next fertilization is carried out after 25 days to 30 days after planting. Urea fertilizer was given again at a dose of 50 kg per hectare and Phonska fertilizer at a dose of 100 kg per hectare.
