I woke up with the goal for an early push as I was determined to not let the lack of options deter me from an early workout to take advantage of better temperatures. Yesterday was rough given the heat so I headed out early today for a jog. I felt pretty strong early in the run even though I was pacing cautiously.
I was able to improve the pace as I went on as I felt my heart rate stable. I also was no longer feeling the burn on my calves. This made me select an alternate route late in the jog so that I could get a 5K under my belt. It has been a while so felt like an accomplishment. It also let me have a short cooldown walk back home as I deviated a but from the route. Good way to end the week!
