Today was really special. It wasn't just any ordinary day. it was the day we finally got to have our long awaited brunch date which we have been planning for months. My friends Mary, Sarah, and I had been planning this since December last year which was 2023, but life got busy we were all occupied eith our different business, and we kept postponing it. We were determined to find a day when we were all free, and today was that day because it was a public holiday which is "ID EL FITR" ( a public holiday celebrated by Muslims)
We decided to go to our favorite fancy restaurant which was the one we used to pass by during our years in high school, always dreaming of the day we could afford to eat there. And now, that day had finally come when we all have enough to spend on ourselves without needing assistance of our parents. It was really a beautiful moment and i really had to plan the whole day and also make my dress because I'm a fashion designer.
The day finally arrived and we all planned to meet athe restaurant because we stayed at different places but we all agreed on a time which we should all be there and the time was 11am atleast. To be honest i went very early and i got there around 10am and to my surprise my friends were already there and they both sat down at a table and all i did was to join them. Immediately memories of our high school days flooded back. We couldn't help but laugh at how we used to talk about coming here someday, never imagining it would actually happen. But here we were, living out that dream. It was so nice.
The atmosphere was bright and with sunlight streaming in through the windows, and the smell of freshly flowers and perfume filling the air. We caught up on each other's lives, sharing stories and laughter over plates of delicious food and drinks. We saw more people coming because it was an holiday and also an opportunity for friends and families to get together.
It wasn't just about the food and drinks that we all came but it was about the company. Spending time with friends who knew everything about me, friends that we aall gre up together from childhood and Friends who had been there through thick and thin. Friends that never talk behind back and friends that would never say anything bad about me and that feeling of them being around me was priceless. We reminisced about old times, but also talked about our hopes and dreams for the future.
As we sipped on our drinks and enjoy every bite if the meal, I couldn't help but feel grateful for moments like these. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it's easy to forget to slow down and appreciate the simple joys that comes from true friendship and i really did that today as i wa surrounded by good food and even better company. Today made me realized the importance of taking time to reconnect with the ones we love and ones that truly loves us back
After everything had been completed and we were about to leave, my friend mary brought the idea to take a picture and promt the hardcopy and we agreed to do that and this wad my personal own and i already decided yo frame it when i get home because this is the first date i hadgone to before
After we left, i was happy and i truly felt appreciated with joy and while i was in the ride that was taking me home, i was still talking with them on phone because we couldn't talk about everything that has happened, things we shared together because they were in abudant and truly appreciate friendship like this and i would love to go on more date with them more and more again because i will never get tired of such feelings.
So here's to brunch dates with friends, to laughter, to memories, and to making dreams a reality. Today was a reminder that sometimes the best moments in life are the ones we shared with those that we grew up together with and also loved us the way we loved them. True friendship is a source of joy in one's life and i felt that joy and happiness today thanks to them.
