Government, at any level, of any type, is the enemy of freedom and justice. Always. The moment there is a political power, control freaks will be first in line to grab it. From then on, they will do whatever they can to increase their power and control — which means decreasing your freedom — and will forever be looking for opportunities to lord their power over others, including you. Even when the gang of thugs is small and local, human nature still applies: power corrupts.
