Is blog is about a visit to a divine temple which is situated in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. Solan district is famous for going different vegetables and fruits it is also called the mushroom city of India due to its extensive mushroom cultivation and yield. It is also famous for tomato production and also known as city of red gold cause of the high production of tomatoes. Situated in lap of nature a Solan has rich cultural and historical significance. Famous temples of Solan includes Shalini Mata temple and another one is Jatoli Shiv Mandir. Join me in this divine visit to Shiv Mandir and experience the rich culture and heritage of Solan with me.
The main gate of temple and it has a notice board on in which informs you to enter the temple only if you are wearing Indian attire.
Jatoli Shiva Temple
It is a sort of underground tunnel from where you have to go upward towards the temple. The Jatoli temple is considered as one of the highest Temple of Shiva in Asia cause of its height which is 122 feet. This also famous for Dravidian style of architecture. And you will be Amaze to know that this temple is 120 years old.
It is a breathtaking spiritual side and locate it about 7 km from the main town Solan. The campus of Temple also includes some other small temple in it.
The name jatoli means long hairs and according to locals Lord Shiva himself visited this temple and blessed with his divine presence.
This temple is also known for a water tank which is scared and the water of the tank has some healing properties. Devotees take this water with them and consider this as a blessing of Lord Shiva. Along with it, Temple has lots of natural caves in it and in ancient times since used to do meditation here.
Dravidian style architecture
The most striking and amazing feature of the temple is its mean spire. Is a symbol of believe faith and devotion. It has golden embellishments in it and it catch the sun rays which creates a divine aura around the temple.
The temple is decorated with sculptures of different deities and Indian gods and every sculpture has a story and symbol behind it.
This is another Gate to a temple and it is beautifully designed with patterns and motives and their all reflect and symbolise spirituality and faith. The structure of the temple is in layer from one above the another and its shows the real craftsmanship.
Different vibrant colours are used in this Temple mostly the gold and the top of the temple is made up of real gold, during sunlight it shines brightly and this make the temple visible from far distance.
Paranomic view from the Temple
From the top the The temple offer panaramic off the hills all around the Solan. In the area also have lots of small villages in it and it reflects the region. You will see the whole valley covered in different vegetation stretching from one end to another.The day I visited the Tampa the sky was crystal clear, and this tempo is excellent spot to see the sunset and sunrise.
Mostly you will see the forest around the temple and these are evergreen forests which includes the deodar and pine trees. The natural beauty around the temple make it a must visit side for not only devotees but those who are interested in nature and seek spirituality between it.
This s Himalayan landscape around the temple adds to the beauty of the temple and make it a best place to experience the divine presence of Lord Shiva. This place is famous not only for worship but far the art the sculptures and the architecture.

Sculptures Outside The Temple
This temple is full of sculptures outside inside and in the temple itself. Is cultures reveals a story behind them and they have Deep spiritual significance. Structures belong to different Gods of Hindu mythology and they are present at on the place where Lord Shiva resides.
This is a sculpture of Nandi Maharaj, sacred bull who is a devotee of Lord Shiva and it always stands opposite to the main temple that all the diabetes first encounter Nandi before entering to the inner sanctum. Chachu is made up of stone and with ornamental cravings it reflect the rich culture heritage associated with the vehicle of Shiva.
This is an another famous statue of Hindu God outside the Shiva temple where he is sitting on a bird, which is his vehicle. Also you can see a the huge snake below the bird.
Not just it, the another highlight of the temple is paintings made on its wall. Made with vibrant colours this paintings catch your attention from for distance and leave you in awe. Details of the painting are something one should appreciate, choose the dedication and craftsmanship of the creator. All these pictures are taken by me with Samsung galaxy s21 ultra.
