My love Language

While growing up, I cherished kind words and encouragement from my close ones. Such words of praise could be a simple appreciation or sincere support that would always make me happy. These were the times when I realized that affirmations are my love language, and hearing unfeigned praises from others filled my heart with warmth and gratitude.

Similarly, acts of service carried huge significance for me. It goes so deep in me whenever somebody could help me without expecting anything in return. These acts could come in the form of friends who helped in various tasks or family members who assisted with house chores, thereby signifying their love and concern towards me.

Well, time spent together also became more valuable to me as I got older. In a world where there are many distractions as well as busy schedules, the little time when we talked meaningfully, or simply enjoyed other’s presence were very special. Consequently, these short spells of togetherness which leads into intimacy, nurture the bonds even stronger while reminding me the importance of living now.

As far as being touchy-feely goes, I wasn’t always that kind of a person. However, I later realized how important it was to use physical contact to show love and affection. A warm hug or gentle stroking could convey emotions which words alone were inadequate for, thus giving a feeling of proximity and bonding which went beyond language.

Yet, my ultimate love language is feeling known.

The idea that someone could truly understand and appreciate me for who I am, quirks and all, struck a chord deep within my heart. Knowing that there is somebody out there who understands me completely.

When someone took their time to listen to me, get what I am thinking and feeling, and remember tiny things that meant a lot to me, it makes me feel adored and valuable like no words could have said. It is all about truly being seen and understood by people who are closest to me, creating a sense of belonging that connects me on levels that make life more meaningful than I ever imagined.

To sum up, love languages have been a path of self-discovery for me. This journey has shown me how love can be expressed in different ways and how others experience it as well. This way, I will have the ability to experience deeper bonds with others through the process of understanding one another better; through acceptance and love.

So through embracing the concept of feeling known, I discovered how to build richer friendships founded on empathy, acceptance and genuine affection between two people.
