Well, after a couple of months powering down waiting for a peak higher than the ones we've seen (I'm not greedy, 0.65 USD would have done), I have admitted defeat and powered-up.
Actually, I'm still hedging my bets and keeping some HIVE liquid in case there's a dramatic change between now and 5th April. Although I'm not holding my breath. Come 6 April, I expect to power up the remainder.
On the other hand, I had 15.56 GBP in my wallet, a combination of a tiny monthly pension payment, interest on my current account and cashback for utilities direct debits. As HIVE dropped under .23 USD, I was able to add 79 HIVE to my little nest egg. Swings and roundabouts.
So, I will either be powering up to 144,000 HIVE, or selling a few HIVE and buying back in when HIVE drops the following day. So it could all still be powered up one way or another by 6th April. Let's see.
I read in someone's post that a sure way to lose money was to keep jumping from one thing to another in a bear market! 🤑
I've increased my SPI total to 11,260 - only another 1,110 to go to reach my target for this year. That's about 28 or roughly 140 HIVE a week. Quite ambitious, I may have to extend my deadline to get to 15% of the fund.
I've developed a new little housekeeping regime as part of my Saturday Savers routine:
- check Saturday Savers comments.
- spin the Wheel of Names.
- transfer savings and giveaway tokens.
- check and adjust delegations, witness and DHF proposal votes.
- claim and stake SPS tokens.
- stake and delegate LEO tokens.
- write Saturday Savers Club post.
It's taken me a while to get to grips with DHF proposals but thanks to blanchy's work on Value Plan, now I have. It's good to have built checking those into a routine, alongside checking what's happening with the witnesses I vote for.
Tempting though it is to write an April Fool's ruse, regrettably I don't have the imagination.
There we are.
Happy HPUD, Savers!
