A morning, a coffee and a book.

    Good morning, coffee lovers...

    Coffee unites us.

I have lived in Cumaná since I was born. It is a small city located in the state of Sucre, Venezuela. They say that it was the first to be founded in the east of the country. It is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. We are from sun and sea. We Cumanese are united by coffee. Each family has its own ritual: in a pot, in an electric coffee maker, Greka type; on a gas stove, on an electric stove, on a wood stove... In short, it is typical that in every house the first thing that is done is to prepare coffee.

Currently it is rainy season. So the days are quite cloudy and somewhat cold, especially at night and in the morning. When the weather is like this I like to drink coffee with the silence and humidity that still exists in the atmosphere after a night of rain. So I got up very early to make myself a black coffee, pure, strong and without sugar. In fact, that's how I usually take it, without sugar.

    Incense and coffee.

I have a habit of lighting incense. My favorites are mandarin, cinnamon or vanilla; Today I have tangerine. The smoke of the incense slowly rises into the air and impresses that it stops with the silence of morning. They say that incense relaxes the pulse and loosens muscle tension, helps you concentrate, promotes concentration, which makes a perfect painting for meditating, thinking or reading.

With coffee and a reading, the day begins.

In the morning I usually make the purest coffee. The first coffee, whenever I have time, I accompany it with a reading, so as the minutes pass I think about how quickly the moments of tranquility are, when you don't want to leave the house; but to stay between the smell of coffee, the smell of incense and the letters...without anything else. That's an ideal situation for me.

At that time, 5am, the sound of the coffee grinder and then the coffee maker erupt like a stampede of smell. It can be heard throughout the house, which is small. A few months ago I ground coffee at night; but I couldn't get used to it. The coffee is ground just before drinking it.

You can never miss being grateful.

And so I end this beautiful morning parenthesis that helps me commune with the new day, with energy and spirit, but not before being grateful for the things I have, for my family, for my health, for my friends... and for having the opportunity to be a new day.
