Now that summer has been over and daylight savings has come to an end days are getting shorter and the nights colder. This makes it time for a new way to engage with the great outdoors and that's to headout with spotlights and try to find all the bugs, animals and birds we can.

We headed to the local wetlands and while it was hard to see due to the camera's not being that good at night, we still had a wonderful time and managed to snap ourselves a few bugs along the way. Learning about how bugs come out at night under the cover of darkness to avoid being eaten by birds and other predators.

Do you do this kind of exploring with your children or friends?
