Trick photography in clickbait articles is too common these days

My crusade against Conservative Brief continues and actually grows. There is another group called Fearless Report which is likely just Conservative Brief publishing under a different name that doesn't immediately give away their bias.

I suppose they are a bit forthcoming about this though because they don't claim they are actually writing the articles and it is right there in front of you when you are looking at the articles.

today though, I want to talk about something that nearly all "news" outlets are guilty of when it comes to luring you over to their various sites and that is their selective use of intentionally misleading photos because using untrue words apparently isn't enough these days.

The vague description of the article in question is something that annoys me about almost any "news" organization these days. That headline tells you almost nothing about what the article is about but if you combine the words with the picture you can only presume that this MAJOR court victory is some sort of dispute between Trump and Chuck Schumer... right?

Well, it should come as no surprise that this is not the case.

First off, I can't believe that this was ever a court ruling or court case to begin with. Since when are churches safe havens for illegal activity? If I had known this my small weed-selling operation in high school would have had a much safer place to stash my gear.

But the point isn't whether or not ICE or any other agency can and should be able to operate near churches, which is a stupid discussion anyway, but the fact that the picture shows Trump, looking successful and happy, and a not so wonderful picture of Chuck Schumer looking dejected.

If you read the article, and I strongly encourage you not to because there is nothing of note in there, you would find the words "Chuck" and "Schumer" exactly zero times in it. This article has absolutely nothing to do with Schumer and he isn't even referenced in any capacity in it. So why do they use a photo insert of him looking disappointed about this?

It's because it is the usual character assassination attempt that the media is always trying to do. Now don't make any errors here: I cannot stand Chuck Schumer but if you are going to go after the guy, there are plenty of things that he actually did participate in that you could make some BS story about, you don't need to try to trick people into thinking that there was some sort of direct confrontation between the Preseident and Schumer to make ol' Chuck look bad. Chuck is a treasure-trove of cringe statements and situations, we don't need to fabricate more of them.

I am not trying to suggest that only Conservative Brief does this though, almost everyone in the lying "news" organizations uses exactly this sort of tactic. Depending on what sort of bias the organization in question has, they will use unflattering pictures of who they don't like, and powerful pictures of the people that they do like.

What I find so upsetting about this isn't so much the lies because that is expected from the media, but the fact that they are doing it to begin with which suggests that they believe or perhaps know that the population is actually IS stupid enough to buy this crap.

This unfortunately is likely the case because the more I look at the rather uninspired and easily-identifiable lies and deception that the news organizations are using, a great many people, perhaps a majority, emerge on the other end of this believing that something that isn't true, is. Both left and right are guilty of this and while I want to say that it is directly the fault of the MSM, you really aught to be in charge of your own brain. You also should by now realize that almost all news organizations are not trying to inform you of anything, they are trying to convince you of something.

The fact that they are throwing Cryin Chuck's picture into a headline blurb that has nothing to do with the guy, is just more evidence of the intentional malice that is going on with basically all news right now.

You are better off not reading any news than you are reading almost anything these days. If you want to be truly informed I highly suggest you check out AllSides for gathering information. They select a right, a left, and a centrist publication about any current event so that you can make your own choice about what you want to believe. One of the main reasons I enjoy AllSides is so that I can quickly see how completely full of shit both sides actually are.
