Buenas esperanzas, gente de Hive. Hace poco visité una de mis librerías de confianza para cuando busco libro en específico o cuando quiero curiosear si ha llegado algo nuevo. Esta se llama "Libroria" y pertenece a la fundación "Museo Venezolano del Libro", la cual tiene también otra librería adjunta (que es la de la primera foto que les comparto) y se llama "Librería Amigos de la fundación Museo del Libro Venezolano" (sí, lo sé, es un nombre extraño. Ellos aún siguen buscando como rebautizarla). En la librería de los amigos venden libros económicos, sin ir lejos, todos comparten un mismo precio que no supera los tres dólares.
En particular he querido enseñarles este libro llamado "Aquí mismo" que es una antología de textos, principalmente venezolanos, pero también con referencias universales especialmente creado para jóvenes. Mi vinculo con este libro es que fue el primer libro que me regalaron cuando era niño, me lo gané por leer bien en el colegio. Me pareció muy hermosos encontrarlo en estos estantes.
Otro título que encontré fue "Teoría del Símbolo" de Todorov, un gran teórico ruso. En particular las condiciones en que estaba no me convencieron del todo y pregunté si lo tenía en "Libroria", pues allí los libros suelen tener condiciones más óptimas o son directamente nuevos, en la de los amigos los libros pueden ser más viejos o ya usados con bastante tiempo de vida transcurrido, eso no significa que no sea grandes libros, sin ir lejos, he comprado joyas allí, como un libro de Gabriel García Márquez precioso de la colección "Biblioteca Ayacucho".
AL final entre a "Libroria", allí hay cien mil libros (o más) es increíble todo lo que tienen, tanto así que incluso conseguí otras copias del mismo libro "Aquí mismo" que les comparto en esta fotos. Los estantes aquí son largos y altos, tanto así que casi todos los pasillos tienen bancos para poder revisar las estanterías. Aquí también están los libros de una de mis editoriales favoritas: Cátedra. Revisando allí conseguí un par de sorpresas.
De ese par de sorpresas está primero una edición de Alicia en el País de las maravillas y su secuela; a través del espejo. Este libro me enamoró, hace mucho que no he leído esta historia y nunca tuve oportunidad de leer la segunda parte. Pero mi sorpresa más grata fue cuando conseguí los "Caligramas" de Apollinaire, eso me hizo muy feliz, pues me ayudaran con mi investigación par la producción de NFTs. Este libro, al ser una edición crítica, comentada , revisada y extendida me será de mucha ayuda en mi proceso de creación de caligramas, estoy muy emocionado de mostrarles mis próximas creaciones. También aproveché y adquirí Odisea e Ilíada, dos textos fundamentales de Homero, el narrador griego, y finalmente compré una copia que me gustó más del texto de Todorov. Les cuento todo esto porque quiero dejar recuerdos de mis procesos investigativos sino solo como un trabajo artístico sino como una experiencia genuinamente grata, y a veces espontánea. Además, y por último, también les dejo unas imágenes de un par de libros que tenían en exposición y son importantes en la historia del libro en Venezuela.

Good hopes, Hive people. I recently visited one of my trusted bookstores for when I am looking for a specific book or when I want to check if something new has arrived. This one is called “Libroria” and belongs to the “Museo Venezolano del Libro” foundation, which also has another bookstore attached to it (which is the one in the first photo I'm sharing with you) and is called “Librería Amigos de la fundación Museo del Libro Venezolano” (yes, I know, it's a strange name. They are still looking for a way to rename it). In the friends' bookstore they sell inexpensive books, without going far, they all share the same price that does not exceed three dollars.
In particular I wanted to show you this book called “Aquí mismo” which is an anthology of texts, mainly Venezuelan, but also with universal references specially created for young people. My link with this book is that it was the first book that was given to me as a child, I earned it for reading well in school. I thought it was beautiful to find it on these shelves.
Another title I found was “Theory of the Symbol” by Todorov, a great Russian theorist. In particular the conditions in which it was not convinced me at all and I asked if I had it in “Libroria”, because there the books usually have more optimal conditions or are directly new, in that of friends the books may be older or already used with enough time of life elapsed, that does not mean that it is not great books, without going far, I have bought jewels there, as a precious book by Gabriel García Márquez from the collection “Biblioteca Ayacucho”.
Finally I went to “Libroria”, there are a hundred thousand books (or more), it's incredible what they have, so much so that I even got other copies of the same book “Aquí mismo” that I share with you in this pictures. The shelves here are long and high, so much so that almost all the aisles have benches to browse the shelves. Here you can also find books from one of my favorite publishers: Cátedra. Checking there I got a couple of surprises.
Of those couple of surprises is first an edition of Alice in Wonderland and its sequel; Through the Looking Glass. I fell in love with this book, it's been a long time since I've read this story and never had a chance to read the sequel. But my most pleasant surprise was when I got Apollinaire's “Calligrams”, that made me very happy, because it will help me with my research for the production of NFTs. This book, being a critical, commented, revised and extended edition will be very helpful in my calligram creation process, I am very excited to show you my next creations. I also took the opportunity and acquired Odyssey and Iliad, two fundamental texts of Homer, the Greek narrator, and finally I bought a copy that I liked the most of Todorov's text. I tell you all this because I want to leave memories of my research processes not only as an artistic work but as a genuinely pleasant, and sometimes spontaneous, experience. In addition, and finally, I also leave you some images of a couple of books that were on display and are important in the history of the book in Venezuela.
