Play With Words: A Trap For Amadeus

Words: list, effective, government, suburb, minute, code, inn.

Amadeus was sitting in the dining room of an inn in the suburb, thinking as he ate his watery soup.
"I'm willing to bet he's hiding around here. The government doesn't dare mess with the people of this area, and the strict rules of the inner city don't apply here."

He drank the rest of his soup, put some coins on the table and left the inn and started walking down the street. The passers-by who looked at him had bold eyes, and Amadeus knew some of them.

He had seen their names in the blacklist that was handed to him. But Amadeus did not decide to engage with them now. He was now looking for bigger prey.

After walking for a while, he finally reached his destination. A wedding dress shop or at least its window showed like this. But in fact, it was the place of secret meetings of anti-government groups.

Amadeus glanced at the large lock on the door and began to knock. He waited for a few minutes and when no one answered, he aimed to break the lock by force, when suddenly someone said from behind the door:
    "Say your special code, comrade."

    "Effectively unaffected."

A hidden door in the wall opened and Amadeus stepped inside. A man with a big belly standing near the door guided him to the lower floor, where Amadeus saw about twenty people gathered around someone and that person was speaking to them.

Amadeus' heart began to beat wildly at the sight of the speaker.
    "He is himself, my prey!"

He sat in the audience and looked at the speaker. A young man with long silver hair and determined blue eyes.

"My friends, I want to tell you things that will break your heart and bring bloody tears to your eyes. I want to tell you about the days of my captivity in the state prison."

He looked at the audience. On Amadeus, he paused for a moment and his meaningful piercing gaze made the color jump from Amadeus' face.

"Why did he look at me like that? Does he know me?"

The golden-haired man continued with a tearful voice:
"The prison guards had turned the prisoners into their toys. They forced them to do the most despicable things and they themselves sat and watched. They crushed the souls of the prisoners with the hammer of their evil."

Amadeus thought to himself, was this man telling the truth? He was not allowed to enter the prisons and had never seen the environment inside them, but his superiors had always told him about the favorable environment there and the respectful behavior of the guards towards the prisoners.

The golden-haired man continued to describe all the degrading behavior of the guards towards the prisoners in full detail, so that the feeling of hatred blossomed in Amadeus.

Of course, not towards the guards, but the golden haired man himself. The issue was not whether the man was telling the truth or a lie, Amadeus thought that saying such things would awaken sensual desires in the audience and unconsciously encourage them to do these things.

The man's speech was over and everyone left. Amadeus started chasing his prey, unaware that some were also chasing him.

Minutes later, an arrow dipped in anesthetic hit Amadeus' leg and he fell to the ground. All the things the golden haired man had described were to be performed on him.
