Exploring the Profound Connection Between Women and Music

A few days ago we celebrate the women in a grand style; the celebration was summarized in some churches like mine by giving the women an opportunity to sing, dance and celebrate themselves.

What drew my attention in their presentation on Sunday was their congregational melodious voice which made me conclude that there's a connection women have with music that can not be compared with the men. Though music can be seen as a universal language, but the greater percentage of those that sing harmoniously are the women - I am not saying this out of being gender biased (of course I'm a boy, so there is a clear justification).

    My Opinion:

Women have made significant contributions to music as composers, songwriters, and instrumentalists, despite facing numerous barriers and prejudices. Music has served as a powerful tool for them to express their emotions, assert their identities, and advocate for social change with the use of their skill in songwriting, composing, instrumentation, etc.

Oftentimes, the female artists have use voices to address issues such as gender inequality, discrimination, and empowerment. Moreover, music has given those without a voice a stage on which to express themselves, enabling women from a variety of backgrounds to tell the world about their experiences and stories.

    Music Heals:

Women who go through lots of disappointment, heartbreak and other trauma sees music as the power to heal, soothe, and provide solace for them in such times. It can be used as a therapeutic tool to promote mental health and well-being among them, offering a safe and supportive environment for emotional expression and self-discovery. Through singing, songwriting, and listening to music, women can explore their emotions, gain insight into their innermost thoughts, and results in a journey of healing and self-empowerment.

In conclusion, the profound connection between women and music is undeniable, from using music as a platform for social change to finding solace and healing in times of adversity, women have demonstrated the transformative power of music in their lives. As we celebrate the immense talents and resilience of women in music, let us continue to recognize and support their invaluable role in shaping our culture and inspiring future generations.
