Introduction
Good day to everyone, a week had passed in the city and it's time to update the progress of my city and the things that happen in the city. In today's post, I will also be talking about technology and research, something that I am looking to work on for my city.
What is dCity?
The game is a city simulator game based on Hive NFTs where one can create a city the way we want it to be. As players develop and grow their cities, optimization is needed in terms of buildings, city population, the income that the city yields and technological developments. While many aspects of the game can be calculated based on the simulator within the game, there is a portion of randomness in the form of crisis event which can bring different kind of impact to city which affects income or popularity. If you like the original SimCity, I am sure you will like this.
My City
The below screenshot is how my city looks like at this moment. The 14 bubbles are still intact but net I gained 1 more young citizen while have sales for a few of them within the week to grow my SIM power. I have 17 young citizens waiting to progress to becoming students and 2 student waiting to progress to new graduated citizens.
Research And Technologies
This is something that I am looking to work on. But before we can do any form of technological improvement, we will need a Research Centre. This is how the market pricing looks like for Research Centre:
And in order to make it work you also need sufficient workers:
So do note, getting a Research Centre itself is not enough as it will become inactive if you do not have enough workers.
After you make the Research Centre active, you can start unlocking technology tree. But take note, unlocking does not mean that one will get the NFT or the associated bonus of that technology, it just gives one the chance of discovering it. Unlocking of technology can only happen every 36 hours unless one pay 900 SIM to reset the timer.
Discovery happens daily at a fixed timing everyday at 1800 UTC based on the formula below:
80 education = 1% chance with a max cap of 25%
Upon discovering the technology, one will be able to get the corresponding NFT card and the associated bonus.
This will be a long process but it will help the city growth in the long run. There are 6 branches of technologies to be discovered, so based on the situation of your city, you can plan what you need accordingly. Time for me to start cracking and discover new technologies to grow my city.
Current SIM Holdings
At the moment of writing, the current amount of SIM I am holding has reached 114,179 SIM. Quite a decent increase as I continue to increase the holdings.
Why Hold SIM?
This is reminder to all that holding SIM (or commonly known as SIM Power) brings about daily liquid hive if one having above 8000 SIM Power. SIM Power is calculated by the from the 30 days average SIM holdings.
With the increase in SIM in my Hive Engine, my 30 day average is will likely see a few days of Sim Power increase. Amount of liquid Hive per day based on current 30 day average is as seen below:
Assuming no increase in Sim Power, I will get 0.66 liquid Hive per month. The numbers continue to increase and building towards the goal I had for using the liquid Hive to fund for Hive Power Up Day. At this moment, it look a little far-fetch, however as I continue to grow, one day I know I will reach there.
Closing
City development is not about just bulking in terms of population and income, it needs progression and hence it is important to improve in technology to make the city more efficient and to grow stronger day by day.
