Neverending hallway

As I woke up I thought there would be plenty of time to have an easy day. Shouldn't Sunday's be that way?
Well, before I knew the day was over and I still wonder what I did from the moment my son helped me out of bed and I prepared breakfast (or was it brunch?).
We talked about what kept our minds busy which is a good thing. It's important to know what's going on in the heads of my family members.

I like to plan ahead, it's always good if dealing with a small budget, so my son's birthday, Easter, and Valentine's Day were all topics we discussed. I am happy my children can do a part of the shopping so I no longer need to do everything myself. It's such a luxury if tasks can be delegated (my son cleaning the fridge for example).

At the end of the day I decided to make a fire which I didn't yesterday (I'm running out of wood so I'm happy with every bit of sunshine it makes a day so much better).
I baked a cake, did the dishes and booked a flight for me and the youngest. This was the most stressful task of the day if not week finding an affordable flight while struggling with a slow internet connection that caused issues when it came to loading the site and... the payment.

And while the reservation remained pending I asked my daughter if she could pick us up (not now but in about 3 months) which would save us the misery of public transport (buses, trains, backpacks and suitcases) since those neverending hallways at airports are already bad enough. By the way, it's the first time we (not we but the youngest) will take a suitcase along so we need to figure out where to drop it. It's all self-service these days which might save on employees but they didn't make it easier. To me, it would be a good reason not to take a suitcase with me. I know how to travel light and do not need much.

I didn't eat tonight, once a day is enough. Aren't you hungry, asked the youngest while she took care of the pizza for her and her brother.
Hungry? No, I rarely am these days which I think is a good thing.

I didn't come to reading so the book I started with and hoped to finish on December 31st, 2023 remained closed
I hope I have time for reading after I make an appointment at the city hall and book my return flight. I will take an early nap, and while asleep I'll think out the next story.
