Enjoying a classic vegetable soup that is very rarely found really makes me long for this day to come.

Melinjo seeds have a unique taste, but are very difficult to find these days. There are actually some on the market but the price is very expensive, because I'm used to picking them up in the garden, so I found it very difficult to buy this at such an expensive price. Haha, I'm not good at calculating things like that, but the good news came from my brother, he is currently harvesting quite a lot of melinjo seads behind his house. As a result, I harvested a bag of melinjo seed and leaves melinjo yesterday, he plan is that I will make soup vegetable fats.

    Materials Used

    20240315_144607.jpg

    100 grams of melinjo fruit
    40 melinjo leaves
    3 long beans
    2 lime leaves
    200 ml coconut milk
    1 green chili

    Ground Spices

    2 Spring onions
    1 clove of garlic
    5 pieces of sunti acid
    3 cm turmeric
    1 teaspoon coriander
    7 green cayenne peppers

    Cooking Procedure

    Step 1, Vegetable Preparation

When making a dish, we must be able to determine which vegetables will be used. Look at the difference in texture used, whether it is hard or vice versa. Like melinjo seeds, for example, melinjo seeds have a hard texture because of their shell, therefore they have to be boiled early before the next stage of the process, so before boiling I clean the melinjo fruit, cut it into small pieces, then also cut the melinjo leaves.

Cut the long beans into 1cm pieces then also chop the green chilies. If you want it spicier, you can add more green chilies than I used.

Cut the lime leaves finely, or according to your preference until all the vegetables are finished. So, these leaves are used as a complement to make the soup smell more fragrant and will definitely make the dish more delicious.

    Step 2, Seasoning Preparation

Next, grind the spices, I cut the spices into smaller sizes so that it is easier during the grinding process. Then add a little water. Because I want a yellowish green sauce here, I don't use red chilies. Therefore, I completely use green chilies to get a good level of spiciness in the dishes I make.

    Step 3, Boiling Vegetables

Boil the melinjo seeds in enough water, using medium heat only. Check on a scale until the melinjo seeds are perfectly soft. This process takes approximately 15 minutes.
