Four-time World Rally champion Juha Kankkunen was never tarmac specialist which is quite normal for Scandinavian drivers but results were never bad. Quite opposite, he finished 2nd overall at Rallye Monte Carlo 1998.
Monte, as we know, is not a pure tarmac event. It is mixed tarmac/ice/snow event and that's where Kankkunen showed his maximum.
I found last night a video from his drive - outside and onboard and his performance is very impressive.
