Since late January as I wake up daily, my prayer has been for rain to start very early this year. It's just February but the heat we are experiencing now is to the extreme. If I'm not mistaken, I think this is the worse season I've experienced in my life. Please who's in charge of this hot weather?
Everywhere is just so hot and bathing several times per day is not doing justice to it at all, likewise the electricity supply is now worse that hardly can we have supply for straight four hours in a day, sometimes no supply of electricity in 2 days, who did we offend?
The advent of this dry season is becoming unbearable how I wish the rainy season can come quickly and can be the only season we have all through the year, I know its not possible but this weather is sweltering.
Though I live in north-central Nigeria, Kwara State to be precise. We do have hotness during the dry season but when it's in the evening or at night the weather becomes averagely cool for one to sleep, but nowadays the reverse is the case. Coming back from work daily in the afternoon walking under the scorching sun, even though I have a bag umbrella which I do take everywhere I go, the heat is still much in which I sweat profusely under my precious walking aid.
Though it's dry season, the weather here is extremely hot, it's not like this last year at all. It's as if the person in charge of the weather is adding certain degrees of hotness per day. The weather here is really unbearable, you go to bed totally soaked in sweat and wake up very early in sweat also.
my new office for now
Presently at work, my new office is now under the tree👆 at the front of my office. I just need a cool breeze to calm myself because I don't want to have body rashes at all. People that know me very well know that I hate sweating, I look for all possible opportunity to teach my students very early in the morning before the afternoon and return back to my new office to catch fresh air. I now go to work in light clothes like chiffon so as to have adequate breeze penetration.
I really don't know the reason for this current weather but I believe it's due to the climate change and I think the effect of the ozone layer depletion is now on the rampage. The ozone layer in the atmosphere is supposed to act as a living organism's protective shield from ultraviolet radiation, but man made chemicals and machineries use on planet earth has cause the depletion of the ozone layer.
The effects of our actions are been suffered by us and I don't think there is solution to this yet. If the weather can be like this now, I can't imagine how next dry season would be. Maybe everyone will just be walking around robbing ice cubes on our body because this heat is just too much for my liking.
I just don't like things to be at an extreme rate, that's why I love the rainy season over this hot weather although not too much of rain so that there won't be flood. I just love everywhere to be cool because I hate sweating.
