Hello everyone, my friends in the black and white community. It's Menti, and I'm back with another photographer and another blog post. This time, we have a special studio shoot with one of my models, and this is part two.
For this shoot, I used a single light source directed at my model from a specific angle as she sat on a royal chair. I used a reflector to soften the harsh shadows. The poses were seated, and I captured shots from two angles with different backgrounds. One backdrop was a curtain, and the other was a glass-like surface overlooking a room with lattice-style glass walls. My model's name is Iman. He's tall, broad-shouldered, and has a rugged look, but sometimes his gentle side shines through when he smiles. We took close-up and wide shots, focusing more on his facial expressions in the close-ups. I positioned the light at a 45-degree angle to create a Rembrandt lighting effect on his face.
In black and white photography, texture and contrast are more pronounced. Look for subjects with interesting textures and create strong contrasts between light and dark areas.
A strong composition is essential in black and white photography. Use the rule of thirds, leading lines, and other compositional techniques to create visually appealing images.
Lighting plays a crucial role in black and white photography. Try different lighting conditions, such as harsh sunlight, soft diffused light, or artificial light, to create various effects.
Well, that's the end of this post. I hope you enjoyed this shoot. Have a wonderful day, my dear friends.
Until next time.
