Good day, Hivers! @itsmemic , once again.

Yesterday, we celebrated our year-end party. It was supposed to happen last year, but since everyone was busy and whenever one person was available, others couldn’t join, our head decided it would be better to hold the event when everyone could attend. We all agreed to hold it yesterday, January 4, because it was the perfect day where everyone could finally be present.

Initially, the plan was to celebrate by the beach on January 5, which is a Sunday and a no-duty day. However, some of us had errands to attend to, so we decided to move the party earlier. The sudden change caught us off guard because we thought we still had time to prepare. But as they say, expect the unexpected!

On Saturday, I had class from 9 AM to 12 PM.

When I went to our neighboring office after my class, they were already inflating white and pink balloons on the center table. I thought to myself, “It’s better to do things straight away so they actually happen.”

I even took a photo of the pile of soft drinks and a sack of Ganador rice beside it.

After lunch, I checked in with our head since I was the emcee for the "Macho Gay" contest. I wanted to know if there were any changes or additions to the program, and good thing I did because there were updates. We also discussed the games. Luckily, I didn’t have class from 1 PM to 6 PM, which was perfect since our program was set to start at 5 PM.

When 5 PM came, everyone started preparing, but in true Filipino time, our program actually began past 6 PM.

When I stepped out of the office, it started raining! We were supposed to celebrate in another building, where no one was using the room, so we waited for the rain to stop before crossing over.

Meanwhile, the first ones to get ready were the contestants for the Macho Gay contest. When I saw their makeup, I couldn’t stop laughing! My office mates were laughing so hard too.

Once the rain stopped, we moved to the other building. Some of my colleagues were already there ahead of us, setting up the food and preparing the venue.

Here’s what went down: these were the giveaways—Ganador rice—and beside them were the raffle prizes.

There were soft drinks near the food, along with C2. For those who didn’t want soft drinks, there was C2. Since I’m not a fan of either, I brought my tumbler with warm water, which I had prepared earlier at the office.

Minutes later, we started with a prayer for the food, and everyone lined up to eat.

And guess what I grabbed first from the food and saved for last? The crispy skin of the lechon belly. Oh my gosh, it was so delicious—I loved it!

That’s all for now, Hivers! The program itself was quite long, so I’ll save the rest of the story for another blog. Stay tuned!
