This movie has been calling to me for three days now and I finally broke down to watch it last night, mainly because Catherine Belle is in it. I remember her when she was in Jag.

Just as the movie starts playing I notice the Hallmark insignia but it has Catherine in it so I wanna watch it. I gave up on Hallmark and Lifetime movies a long time ago. Maybe because what I was seeing was either too much like my life at the time or what I wanted and didn't think I would ever get it.

Anyway Catherine plays the character of Cassandra "Cassie" Nightingale who has just moved to the town of Middleton. Because of the house she lives in she is considered a witch but this is never confirmed.

Then there is the chief of police, Jake Russell, played by Chris Potter. He lost his wife three years prior to the current story line and was left to raise his two kids, Brandon and Lori, with the help of his father-in-law.

Of course, you can't have your good without your bad. There is a boy who bullies Brandon and steals his money, and then there is the Mayor's wife, who is against Cassie even more once her gift store, Bell, Book, and Candle, opens.

I love the character development in this movie. Especially that of Cassie.

After watching this movie I noticed there were a few others. I then learned in 2015 they turned the movies into a series. Between the seven movies made and the seven seasons of the television series I am sure there is a lot of good story. I have to say though that somewhere along the line the original police chief was replaced.

If you are looking for some wholesome family entertainment this might be worth checking out.
