Where are you in the Quran?!

One Jalil-ul-Qadr Tabi and famous Sardar Ahnaf bin Qais, may Allah have mercy on him, was sitting one day when this verse began to circulate in his heart.

(لَقَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ)

(Surah Al-Amboya: 10).

"We sent down to you a book in which you are mentioned, don't you understand?!

He was immediately shocked and said, "Just bring the Quran to me, then it is right that I find myself and see which people I am mentioned with and which people I am similar to."

When he opened the Qur'an, he passed by some people whom the Qur'an has defined in these words.

( كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ . وَبِالْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ . وَفِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ)

(Al-Dhariyat: 17-19).

"Those people slept very little at night and asked for forgiveness at the end of the night, and in their wealth was the right of those who begged and those who did not."

Then some people were found whose condition was like this:

(تَتَجَافَى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ )

(Sajdah: 16).

"Their sides are separated from the calves, they call upon their Allah with fear and hope. And they spend from what We have given them."

Some other people were seen who had this condition.

(يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَامًا )

(Al-Furqan: 64).

"They spend the nights in prostration and staying before their Allah".

There are also some whose attributes have been described as:

(يُنْفِقُونَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَالْكَاظِمِينَ الْغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ)

(Aal Imran: 134).

"They spend in ease and hardship, and restrain anger and forgive people's faults, and Allah loves the righteous."

Some other people were seen who have been mentioned in these words.

(يُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ وَمَنْ يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ)

(Al-Hashr: 9).

"They put others before their lives, even if they themselves are in need, and the person who is saved from the stinginess of his own self, then such people are successful."

There were some who had this condition.

(يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَ)

(Al-Shoora: 37).

"And those who abstain from major sins and indecency, and forgive when anger comes."

And some were mentioned in this way.

(وَالَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَى بَيْنَهُمْ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ)

(Al-Shura: 38).

"And those who accept the command of their Allah and pray, and do their work in consultation with each other and spend from what We have given them."

On reaching here, he went to Tham and said: O Allah! I am well aware of my situation, I am not seen anywhere in these people!!
