Valentine Shockers

Good morning everyone.

Welcome to another mynd blowing expository. Here I will be sharing with you my experience in the recent past valentine's Day Celebration. For me, the Valentine's day is an everyday occasion base on my kind of job. As a teacher, you never can stop being the person that expose the learners to what attitude they need to show others on a daily basis, one of which us sharing love.

Before this year's Valentine's Day celebration, I got a new job, one week before Val's day. Since I had been conversant with the teaching profession, I bonded with the learners quickly and together we had a fun filled Valentine's Day.

There had been rumour of the learners secretly making arrangements of surprising some staff and students of the school respectively. For me, I just continued with my job and planned to celebrate the day with my wife. In doing so, I buy perfume and a gold necklace. I have that already figured out before I resumed at my new post. For me, the best gift for this year Val's Day was the new job. Since I was just settling down, I had no expectations for the celebrations.

On D-day, my new colleagues wore clothes that had a touch of red color. It was a beautiful scene. The learners were fully dressed in their sportswear. Since the celebration was on Wednesday, a day kept aside for sports in the school, as if it were planned, the learners came to the sports ground looking all sporty in their red and white stockings.

The Height of The Day

One of my year ten learners reported to my office, lit up with a smile, and said some of the most amazing words I have ever heard a person say to me:

Good morning Mr Kay. It's Valentine's Day. I thought of gifting my superhero something special. I could tell that you are a rare gem. Thanks for this short but fascinating memory you have laid for many of us.

As he spoke, I rose from my chair, my hands folded around my chest region as he brought for a gift bag, something in a pack. It was just a week ago I resumed. I shouldn't be receiving such accolades from these guys. But you know what? It is what it is.

I stretched out my hands to receive the gift. Just then, the other learners who had been standing behind my office door, rushed in and shouted Happy Val's Day, Mr Kay. They then gave a round of applause in their standing ovation. I smiled while these were happening. Then, one after the other, I shook hands with them while they returned to the sports ground. It was quite unbelievable to appreciate.

After work hours, I joined a commercial bus at the Osapa London area of Lagos home, holding my special Valentine's gift in my hands. As I was rushing with other waiting passengers, one street boy came and was dragging the pack of gifts, trying to snatch it but I was stronger. You know, in Lagos, you have to be watchful always. When I had settled down in the bus, I looked out from the car window and saw the guy had been beaten, by then our bus had sped off from the scene.

On reaching home, my wife presents me with two new shirts. Seriously, those shirts came in at the right time. You know, I needed to change my wardrobe on resuming at my new office. It was one of those beautiful times during the 2024 Valentine's Day celebration. I went ahead too to present my gifts to her. Believe me, she cherished it so much and I am happy that she was glad.

Special Ocassion In The Year's Valentine

Alright, guys
See ehn, when those learners entered my office with the leader of the team, Bayo Falade, one of the most eloquent students in the school, I knew I was in for a surprise. Seriously, the scene brought tears to my eyes and I took it with a strong absorbed.
It came to me as a shock because I had just clocked only one week old in the school. Now, I have a task to keep being good to the learners and make them my friends and tutor too.

It was a special Valentine's Day anyway.
