Hello, my friends, photography lovers.
The last time we parted was at the top of the Teacher's Pass. Then my friends and I were the first to climb the pass and drink spring water. Then we lay down on the rocks to rest after a few hours of climbing.
On the opposite side of the gorge, directly opposite us, there was a majestic peak called the Dome of Three Lakes. Its height is 3.5 kilometers above sea level.
There is another glacier on this peak, which is called the Waterfall Glacier. Our instructor, a young guy, said the day before that we planned to climb this peak. But only for people who are strong and experienced. My friends and I thought about it: we are strong, of course, but we are in the mountains for the first time in our lives. Can we be called experienced? Probably not.
And rolling down from such a height onto the rocks was not part of our plans. Therefore, we decided not to say anything yet, but to bide our time.
I must say right away: no one has ever climbed the Dome of the Three Lakes. The rescue service located at the base camp forbade this, because the soil in the lobby on which the lift was planned is too unstable. Scree is possible, which will lead to tragedy.
So this peak remained unconquered by us. But we weren't upset. Along the path that leads to the top, there is a place where there are several obelisks with the names of climbers who died here. We didn't want our names to be added to this list either.
They say that you can ski from the top of the Dome. And there are people who specifically hire a helicopter to lift them to the point of descent. There is also a piece of helicopter propeller near the obelisks. One day there was a tragedy when the helicopter touched the slope with its blades and collapsed.
So we preferred to admire this peak from afar.
The only mountains that can be better than mountains are those that you haven't been to yet!
