"Through constant drizzle we reached the edge of the old lava field. A huge cemetery and excavations were marked on the map in this area. We learned from the information sign that the lava field is the cemetery of the original culture that lived on the island before the arrival of the Spaniards. It was only after this realization that we began to notice the stone mounds in the middle of the lava field."

"As it was late afternoon, we still had an hour of light to stop and take a dip in the river after long hours of travel. It was an incredible reward. There were few people around and I could tell that most of them were locals and not tourists. People who were leaving work and stopped for a dip or were walking their dogs."

🥉 Neelkanth Mountain Base Camp Trek by @himalayanwomb
"The road distance from Delhi to Badrinath temple is 529 km and it took us about 16 hours to cover this distance. We took a stay at Karnaprayag where the Alaknanda and Pindar rivers meet. After spending a night here, we reach Badri city by next morning bus. It's winter time but it hasn't snowed yet and we're thinking it will while we're here."
