We introduced the kids to The Incredibles this weekend, and let me tell you: 6 and 4 are the right ages to introduce kids to Jack-Jack, Dash, and Violet. They had so much fun watching the kids get their powers and start being awesome, and the Short of 'Jack-Jack Attack!' had them roaring with laughter - which is the best way to spend an evening in the weekend.
I managed to get a new computer stand built, and then re-install windows 10 on my old PC so my wife can start actually using it. We also got the baby's Jolly Jumper set up. My two older kids never really liked the thing as babies - they didn't hate it, but it just wasn't something they were super interested in. Our youngest though... holy cow does she love it. She got proper screaming mad today when she could see it and wasn't being put into it so she could jump. It was pretty cute once we figured out why she was all of a sudden losing her marbles when she'd been perfectly calm before coming into our kitchen.
I've managed to get right into some Caves of Qud gaming this weekend too - it's a really neat game that (like Dwarf Fortress) I slept on forever and am just now picking up. I'll probably toss up a few posts about it as I play, it's a really neat setting and a really fun game, though it's definitely focused on a specific subset of gamers that enjoys a more dense game with simple graphics. There's a lot of folks who would take one look at it and not be interested... but for me, it's everything I love about Dwarf Fortress' Adventure Mode but with a scifi/post-apoc theme and a singular focus on the adventure. I look forward to being able to make some fun posts around it in the coming days.
Until next time friends.
