Aha! It's sober day!
That sounded like I'm a drunkard, lol!
I was only trying to say it's Saturday😅 It's the weekend and we will be welcoming the New Year in a little more than 3 days. With that in mind, I'd like to take a quick look back at how the current year has been - in real life and my digital journey.
First off, I am so grateful that despite some challenges, life treated us well and we are still here, breathing, rambling, smiling, Hiving, laughing, playing, working, farting. Oops! That last word was unnecessary but it's the truth, lol!
Joke aside so much happened this year — a mix of joy and sadness, good and not-so-good ones, etc. Such is living, I suppose. Not everything is rosy and it's okay. We learn to appreciate and value life more when we experience things.
Well, for one we had a few local adventures (we would have loved more) which included an escapade with the family in Vigan and other parts of the Ilocos region, a couple of trips to the Mountain Provinces (Bontoc, Otucan, Bauko, etc). Unfortunately, we did not check off all on our list. There was the boat ride on a lake and paragliding, among others.
In July, we left the Lil Kingdom for DD in another town. This probably was the most random decision we made out of excitement but I'm glad it's equally nice here so no regret. Whilst there was a plan to move back, we love our stay, even our Yongi enjoys his little adventures.
The last quarter had been challenging and scary for my family. Health concerns and all - Dad went into surgery on the second week of October with risks of tumors on his internal organ (pancreas) which thankfully were not malignant. Mom tripping back and forth to hospitals (which we thought had become her normal routine since 2021 when she suffered 3 mild strokes), but then we learned she had cancer. Being shocked is an understatement of what we felt. I cried my heart out and was in denial for some time...
...but I'm now learning to accept things as they are.
Meanwhile, in terms of goals, we crossed off a few — investments (mostly on real estate) and added a bit to our crypto portfolio. There were no significant additions to our stock holdings though. On-chain, we surpassed our HP target of 25k (now at 26,263 HP).
What about friendships and relationships?
Aah... they are still good and the bond is stronger than ever! Although I must admit not being able to spend MORE time with my very few close friends. We planned to meet on several occasions, but due to some circumstances (and distance), things didn't push through. Hopefully, the next year will be kinder to us, and who knows, we might even go on a trip together. Fingers crossed :)
So yep, that's about it!
2024, in general, was awesome and I'm thankful for everything, challenges and all for they make us grow and live.
Salamuch, and here's to a terrific 2025!🥂🍺🍻 I'm so #ReadyNa😜
