I was able to get out early again today and enjoy relatively good weather despite some showers at the start. I decided to go for a run and push myself on pace to test how my body and heart rate would react. I was surprised to see that my heart rate was pretty good in the early part but I found myself dropping pace often for some reason. I would immediately try to correct so I put it a good pace overall.
I will need to look at why I was bringing down my pace despite my ability to push my Zones higher. Except for the very end, I felt that I had more pace to put in. In fact, my intention was not to do a complete 5K but I felt strong enough to push forward for it at the end. It was overall positive as it is an indication of the progress I seem to be making in my fitness which is great.
