Even though he played on a rival team to my favorite team, Ray Lewis is one of my favorite NFL players ever. He possessed a lethal combination of skill and aggressiveness. Not to mention the great leader he was on the field. A tremendous motivator.
Today marks 24 years since Ray Lewis shattered the hearts of all Titans fans, as this card describes.
The card itself is pretty amazing in person. A beautiful backdrop of dark, very mildly shiny purple. In contrast with the white uniform, this card is just cool.
The Titans-Ravens rivalry is criminally underrated in my opinion. So many great games through the late 90's to early 2000's. The rivalry is still pretty alive to this day.
The hot new film in theaters while Ray Lewis destroyed the Titans was 'Cast Away' starring Tom Hanks. Funny enough, the Titans are actually mentioned in Cast Away. Cast Away is good, may have to re-watch. I haven't seen it in forever.
