Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - What An Epic Brawl Of 9 Battles!

Time flies! Just completed the 168th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

    • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

    • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 9 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

    • We Got 8th!

So for the final result, we were 8th out of 10 guilds and got 538 Merits and around 10 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! A very poor finish but was let down my participation as well. Sometimes I wonder how many people are playing Splinterlands these days.

Individually, I had 9 fights this time and I won 6 of them this time! Finished 4th within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there was 0 additional wins for me.

    Let's jump into the battles!

    Battle 1 - LOSE

    Gladius Card Used: Gorth

On lucky days I would have won this. Gorth and the rest of my team just kept missing the opposing Djinn Oshannus for this and eventually the entire team just went down. Totally not within my control unfortunately.

    MVP: None

    Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Astral Entity lineups generally don't fare well against Magic lineups but I had enough for today. A double Martyr boost thanks to Astral Entity and Venari Marksrat combined allowed Pelacor Deceiver to sweep through the opposing team comfortably.

    MVP: Venari Marksrat

    Battle 3 - WIN

    Gladius Card Used: None

The ruleset and low mana battle made both teams field just one card for the battle. It was clear that I had the advantage in HP but I was also wary of misses and bad luck given what happened in earlier battles. Fortunately there was no bad luck and I secured the straightforward win with all the hits well landed.

    MVP: Queen Of Crows

    Battle 4 - LOSE

    Gladius Card Used: None

I was definitely outwitted in this one. I had set up my team with Ever Hungry Skull really to take advantage of the Resurrect from Astral Entity but my opponent just went for all out Sneak attacks and cleared the backline all the way to the front. I just didn't have the firepower to cope with the opposing Gladius card.

    MVP: None

    Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Isgald Vorst

Both teams put out very interesting lineups due to the Heavy Metal ruleset. I always disliked facing Immortalis but this time round my Gladius cards outperformed and we managed to get the win!

    MVP: Isgald Vorst

    Battle 6 - WIN

    Gladius Card Used: None

These battles and rulesets are really stretching the depth of my card collection. For this case, fortunately I had enough firepower for my Ranged cards, having added Daigendark Hunter to the list. Anyway, Dhampir Stalker was the MVP in this one, taking down all the crucial hits.

    MVP: Dhampir Stalker

    Battle 7 - LOSE

    Gladius Card Used: Larissa Kerato

When I have Larissa Kerato on the board, it's almost always a win but this time it wasn't. My opponent had too many Legendary cards and the opposing Spirit Hoarder was just healing non-stop. Even though my lineup was pretty decent, it wasn't enough.

    MVP: None

    Battle 8 - WIN

    Gladius Card Used: Trapp Falloway

Another Equaliser battle and there was no stopping of Trapp Falloway in this case. He's simply just made out for Equaliser fights. Easy win in this one.

    MVP: Trapp Falloway

    Battle 9 - WIN

    Gladius Card Used: None

Oh no! It's Quora Towershead again! Thanks to Magic Reflect ruleset, the opposing Quora Towershead was weakened somewhat, and I was able to cope better. That made the difference and we got this win. What a relief!

    MVP: Astral Entity

So that sums up my 9 battles for this brawl! 67% win rate this time round! Not too bad, but always room for improvement!
