| Hello, friends! Last week, a senior member of my extended family passed away. He wasn’t a very close relative, but I knew him well, and he was a truly good person who never refused to help anyone. Recently, he had been ill, and when cancer finally overcame him, I couldn’t not attend Uncle Joseph’s farewell to pay my respects. As I stepped out of the church where the farewell ceremony took place, snow began to fall from the sky. However, with the temperature above freezing, the snow immediately started to melt, covering the entire neighborhood with puddles. The streets turned wet and somber, as if nature itself mourned alongside the people for a good person. There are no photos from the funeral in this post—it would have been disrespectful to his family and, therefore, to myself. Instead, these are just photos of the small streets of the residential area where the church that hosted the ceremony is located. | Привіт, друзі! Минулого тижня поме родин мій старший родич. Він не був надто близьким родичем, але я добре знав його і він був дуже хорошою людиною, ніколи нікому не відмовляв у допомозі. Він останнім часом хворів і коли рак нарешті його подолав, я не міг не прийти до дядька Йосифа, щоб віддати йому останню шану. Коли я вийшов з церкви, де відбувалася церомонія прощання, з неба почав падати сніг. Але на вулиці була плюсова температура, тому сніг одразу є почав танути і весь довколишній мікрорайон вкрився калюжами, а вулиці стали мокрими та сумними, наче природа разом з людьми оплакувала хорошу людину. І у моєму дописі немає фотографій із самого похорону, це було неповагою до родини померлого, а отже до мене самого. Це просто фотографії маленьких вуличок спального мікрорайону, де знаходилася церква, де відбувалася церемонія прощання. |
