Saludos a todos. Estas fotos que hoy comparto no son recientes. Las tomé hace más de un mes en mi solar, antes de que iniciaran las lluvias. Es asombroso que aún cuando haya tanta sequía, siempre en mi solar encuentro vestigios de vida, y estas fotos son prueba de ellos, encontré un hermoso exoesqueleto de araña.

It is amazing that even when there is so much drought, I always find vestiges of life in my lot, and these photos are proof of them, I found a beautiful spider exoskeleton.
Siempre en mi casa he podido encontrar arañas: Tarántulas, viudas negras, pequeñas arañas caseras, de muchos tipos. Recuerdo que de pequeña eran más abundantes, especialmente tarántulas negras y de estas marrones que hoy les comparto. Para mí era fascinante ver cómo mi tía Chichita tomaba sus exoesqueletos y los colocaba en una repisa por un tiempo. También era interesante verlas en la planta de trillolit (Combretum indicum) del jardín interior. A veces también las puedo ver en mi cocina, en mi habitación, en mi sala… en fin, en toda mi casa. Yo ya me he habituado a su presencia, por lo que las dejo estar y ya, (realmente las únicas que extermino son las viudas negras, porque ya perdí uno de mis gatos por una picadura de esas arañas). Sé que cumplen que cumplen un nicho ecológico importante.
I have always been able to find spiders in my house: Tarantulas, black widows, small house spiders, of many types. I remember that when I was little they were more abundant, especially black tarantulas and these brown ones that I share with you today. It was fascinating for me to see how my aunt Chichita took her exoskeletons and placed them on a shelf for a while. It was also interesting to see them on the trillolit plant (Combretum indicum) in the interior garden. Sometimes I can also see them in my kitchen, in my bedroom, in my living room... in short, throughout my house. I have already gotten used to their presence, so I let them be and that's it, (really the only ones I exterminate are the black widows, because I already lost one of my cats due to a bite from those spiders). I know that they fulfill an important ecological niche.
Si prestan atención, podrán ver entre las hojas, este pequeño y fugaz tesoro: Un exoesqueleto de una araña, la Megaphobema velvetosoma, aunque siendo muy franca, realmente no estoy segura si ese será su nombre científico, pero me pareció bastante similar a las fotos que encontré en Internet. He podido ver individuos de unos 10 – 12 centímetros de longitud, este exoesqueleto correspondía a una araña de menor tamaño.

Estas arañas son tímidas, realmente temen mucho al ser humano, a veces aparecen en alguna habitación de la casa y se ven como sorprendidas y corren a esconderse, aunque a ellas les gusta más estar entre las plantas y los árboles.
These spiders are shy, they really fear humans, sometimes they appear in a room of the house and look surprised and run to hide, although they prefer to be among the plants and trees.
Si ven con detalle este exoesqueleto, (que es como un vestido que se ha quitado esta araña porque ya le queda pequeño), podrán observar el detalle de la parte superior de su cuerpo, con un bello diseño color crema que resalta sobre el fondo marrón claro. También podrán ver que tiene pequeños pelos por toda la parte superior de su cuerpo y en las patas. Las extremidades o patas también pueden verse con todo detalle, en toda su longitud, con sus articulaciones. Asimismo, al girarla, se ve el detalle de su abdomen y de sus quelíceros, obviamente es un insecto que puede inyectar veneno, y como toda tarántula, es su mecanismo de defensa y de caza. De seguro este animal será un ejemplar magnífico.

Likewise, when you turn it, you can see the detail of its abdomen and its chelicerae, obviously it is an insect that can inject poison, and like all tarantulas, it is its defense and hunting mechanism. This animal will surely be a magnificent specimen.
