The Home That Love Built and Broke

    In a town deep down
    Lived a pretty, petty lad
    Who owned a lovely home
In the extraordinary shape of a heart,
    Painted a sparkling red.
    ![](
She loved the home with her whole heart.
    She maintained the reddish home
As though her life depended on it.
She loved anyone and anything related to her home,
Oh! A lovely reddish home shaped like a heart.

    One day came by,
And the beautiful lad, as all called her, inspected her home,
Just like every other passing day.
    But now, the beautiful lad saw something fit to kill;
A little hole in her perfect home.

    Oh, helpless beautiful lad,
    She cried throughout the day.
Her home meant life to her,
So she went out for help.
She cried, "I seek a man fit to fix my home, with whom I shall covenant."

A man came to the home of the lad.
She felt happy, relieved, and calm.
The man started the repairs of the home.
The beautiful lad began to have a likeness for the man,
Just as she had for her reddish home.

After a while, the beautiful lad noticed something:
The man didn’t care much about the repair of the home she adored.
When she confronted him, he got annoyed.
When she saw this, she sent him away from her home.
He went but left a crack that kept expanding.

    Then came another man,
And again, the lad grew fond of him.
She made up her mind to be with him forever.
They lived happily, she, the man, and her reddish home.
She woke up every day with a heart full of hope.

One day, when the man went to find a perfect cure for the crack,
The beautiful lad waited patiently, day and night,
Wishing for the safety of her man.
    The cracks kept multiplying,
And the man never came back.

Once more, out in the street,
    Went the young, distressed lad,
In search of a healer for the cracks.
At first, she felt like it was over,
Until he came, like an angel.

She thought she had found her happiness.
He fixed her home as though it had never been broken.
She believed she had found redemption.
She shared the likeness of her home with him.
He loved her home as much as she did.

    But then came a day,
    When they had an argument,
And the man ruined her freshly painted home.
The beautiful lad ran out of red paint,
So she painted her home black.
