The Phillies are officially set to take on the Mets in the NLDS round! The division rivals earned their way to this second round after a pretty competitive and dramatic Wild Card series against the Brewers. Thursday's game three, series deciding game in Milwaukee was particularly impressive. The Mets were down 2-0 in the ninth inning before the Mets' Pete Alonso hit an absurd three-run home run to take the lead and then of course they'd go on to win.
So yeah, there's no doubt that the Mets are insanely hot. This is slightly worrisome but I think this is where New York's underdog story ends. I hope so LOL.
The Mets have had to play excellent baseball basically the entire second half of the season. Some may say this makes the Mets more dangerous but we shall see. The Phillies have had the luxury of leading the way all season in the standings.
As hot as the Mets are the Phillies are now thrust in the same mindset as the Mets have been in. Backs against the wall. All or nothing in the playoffs.
I believe the Phillies two consecutive deep runs in the playoffs will easily help match the Mets' energy coming in. Mets may be hot, but the Phillies now what the playoffs are about and I imagine they want to win the whole thing very badly. Citizen's Bank Park going absolutely wild for nine innings will match the Mets' cute cinderella story.
Legends are made in Ocotober. The Phillies just have to be great.

The Phillies are not at all about to underestimate the Mets. Everyone sees how hot they are, and the Phillies played them very recently and definitely had some struggles. Frankly the Mets are so hot right now it doesn't even feel like the Mets are just some random team that got hot at the right time. It's loud and clear the Mets are here. But so are the PHILLIES.
Apparently, this is the first EVER playoff matchup between the Mets and Phillies? Kind of crazy to me considering their long history and rivalry. Glad I get to see this, pretty historical! Hopefully the Phillies win though LOL.

I am SO READY. Zack Wheeler is set to pitch for the Phillies but it's unknown who the Mets are sending out.
Phillies can't be worried about how hot the Mets are they just have to come in locked in and ready to match that intensity!!! Swing away fellas!!!
