In this post ,I shall share with you a tone that I formulated long ago for a psalm which I was to render in my church. Some of you may be confused what I mean by psalm tone. Ok, let me brief you a little of what I mean by that.
In my church, that is, the Catholic church, the celebration of the Eucharistic mystery is made up of two basic parts which are the liturgy of the word and of the Eucharist. In the liturgy of the word, there is the celebration of the word of God which involve a reading from the old Testament and the new testament and then one of the Gospels.
Then in between the first reading and the second, there is a passage of the book of Psalms which can be recited or sung. We prefer it to be sung on Sundays and so whoever is assigned to take that would have to go and look for a good tone that will be fitting for the particular psalm for the day.
So basically, this is what I meant by psalm tone. In the history of my life as a chorister, I have been assigned on several occasions to handle the singing of the Psalms or to accompany another who is to sing it with a musical instrument. It is always a pleasure for me to sing for the people of God and so whenever I am assigned to do that, I usually go out of myself to look for a tone that would drive down the spirit of the listeners and yield inspirational fruits.
Today, I bring you a jam of one of those tones I had formulated over the years. This tone is one that was very special because I remember many persons using it afterwards to also sing their Psalms when they are assigned.
In this jam, I added something new, I didn't just play the tone of the psalm as I sang it long ago but I added an intro which I played at intervals to add beauty to it. Using the chords of the notes, t.t.t.t.t.t:-l.l.l.l.l.l:-:f.f.f.f.f.f:-.r:-.t-.d..... then repeatedly done and then the melody of thw psalm follows suit. This is for me an enjoyable music.

En esta publicación, compartiré con ustedes un tono que formulé hace mucho tiempo para un salmo que debía interpretar en mi iglesia. Algunos de ustedes pueden estar confundidos sobre lo que quiero decir con tono de salmo. Ok, déjame informarte un poco de lo que quiero decir con eso.
En mi iglesia, o sea la iglesia católica, la celebración del misterio eucarístico se compone de dos partes básicas que son la liturgia de la palabra y de la Eucaristía. En la liturgia de la palabra hay una celebración de la palabra de Dios que implica una lectura del Antiguo Testamento y del Nuevo Testamento y luego uno de los Evangelios.
Luego, entre la primera lectura y la segunda, hay un pasaje del libro de los Salmos que se puede recitar o cantar. Preferimos que se cante los domingos, por lo que quien sea asignado para cantarlo tendrá que buscar un buen tono que sea apropiado para el salmo particular del día.
Básicamente, esto es lo que quise decir con tono de salmo. En la historia de mi vida como corista, me han asignado en varias ocasiones encargarme del canto de los Salmos o acompañar a otro que lo cantará con un instrumento musical. Siempre es un placer para mí cantar para el pueblo de Dios y, por eso, cuando me asignan hacerlo, normalmente salgo de mí mismo para buscar un tono que derribe el espíritu de los oyentes y produzca frutos inspiradores.
Hoy os traigo un jam de uno de esos tonos que había ido formulando a lo largo de los años. Este tono es uno que fue muy especial porque recuerdo que muchas personas lo usaban después para cantar también sus Salmos cuando se les asignaba.
En esta improvisación, agregué algo nuevo, no solo toqué el tono del salmo como lo canté hace mucho tiempo, sino que agregué una introducción que toqué a intervalos para agregarle belleza. Usando los acordes de las notas, t.t.t.t.t.t:-l.l.l.l.l.l:-:f.f.f.f.f.f:-.r:-.t-.d..... luego se hace repetidamente y luego la melodía del salmo sigue su ejemplo. Esta es para mí una música agradable.
Me encanta cuando hago este tipo de música porque me hacen feliz y me ayudan a ejercitar muy bien mis habilidades musicales. Queridos amigos, espero que les guste esto. Gracias por venir.
