The Bubbling Cauldron
The other day, on the way home I was listening the radio and they were discussing dreams. It was International Dreams day or Sleep day, whichever. In any case, they had on air a psychologist of some sort that specializes in Dreams.
I missed the opening segment of the show, but I caught on.
There were some listeners who could phone in and explain what sort of recurring dream he or she has. The lady asked the one guy what he was running from, or what it was that he was avoiding. He had been having recurring dreams of a Lion and it appears anywhere. He would then run from it.
This is where her suggestion came in that the Lion could be representing more than just a predator and could be representing a part of his life or a thing about himself that he is avoiding.
For myself, I have noticed that there are times where I can try to avoid certain things and they also make appearance. In my case I am talking about stories. Fiction. Fantasy.
I realized that I NEED to have an creative outlet for my brain otherwise to they DO come out in my dreams. Not as a Lion chasing me or something like that. It is more a case of having many vivid dreams. If I don’t write, this does not go away and my mind starts making its own stories.
If I am doing plenty writing however… this gets more quiet.
The unsung Heroes.
I recently had reason to show two of my kids my BIG fiction I worked on for many years.
I realized that it would be a great waste to leave those to wither and shrivel and die as well.
Perhaps it WAS time to start working on them again.... releasing this world I created instead of frarfully keeping it hidden...
What do you think?
Cheers!
