Christmas is a Time of joy happiness and celebration and most times people share things with one another but what if trying to share happiness with others turns to tragedy

According to Vanguard, 17 people died in Anambra State, and also 10 died in Abuja, the nation's capital, during rice-sharing stampedes.
As if that's not enough 35 people died in Ibadan during a funfair stampede. All these happen within a week.
    How did they get there?
When sharing things of this kind, the major target is often the Poor and vulnerable in society, but what happens if over 46% of the people live in poverty? That's a scary 104 million people. To make matters worse, the states mentioned above are not even the poorest in the country. They are way better than most states.
Imagine whats happening in those other region.

What if I told you that this is a country with the continent's largest oil reserves if I'm not mistaken? I don't want to talk about gas and other stuff reserved in the country that's for another day.

The high food inflation and food insecurity in Nigeria are ridiculously painful. And the government has failed in its job of tackling the food inflation enough.

It's even more painful because there's enough arable land to cater to Nigerians and the world. Unfortunately, very few people have the resources for mechanized farming. Insecurity and banditry is a story for another day.

But people might also blame poor implementation of crowd control at such events. Just like there are lots of food-sharing events in Miami which are organized, and the police are there to help.
But just imagine 10,000 people queuing up for free food that will last them more than a day is so pathetic.

Nigeria is in a seriously pathetic state if nothing is done with immediate effects. News like this will be the tip of the iceberg. Africa's most populated country is heading towards destruction.
