I welcome you to my blog. For some people, the season to spread and show love is over, while for others, it goes on all year round, which is the right way to go. We do not need a particular day or week to spread and show love; it should be a daily routine something we do often, without even being told. Last week, singles like myself were oppressed both offline and online, while many relationships crashed and many cheating partners were discovered.

Normally, I have never experienced offline Valentine's Day oppression, but this year was completely different. While I moved on the street, I was just seeing dispatch riders with teddy bears as big as gorillas. I thought we all agreed that the economy is harsh and there is no money on ground. Where did all the money for teddy bears and chocolates come from?
It did not end on the streets; imagine waking up to the sound of a trumpet. A lover boy brought instrumentalists to wake his girlfriend up in our apartment. We singles were just looking from the balcony and smiling; we got no gift or wish at all, but we thanked God for our network providers that came through for us. No one wished us, but our network providers did.
My Valentine's day started quite boring after they woke me up from the sleep I was enjoying. I rushed to the kitchen, prepared what to eat, and decided to see a movie, which kept me indoors until 3 p.m. A friend of mine was sick, so at around 3 p.m, he called on me to come follow him to the chemist where he takes treatments. I had the urge in me to decline following him because school is on total shut down as a result of the student riot that took place a week before Valentine.
We had military men and policemen patrolling everywhere. We have heard news of students getting harassed and manhandled by these men, but since I spend most of my time indoors, I have not seen it for myself. I thought if I turned him down, then it would be concluded that because I was seeing a movie, I refused to follow a friend to the chemist. I reluctantly left the bed to prepare and follow him to the chemist. We got to the chemist, he got his treatment, and we were on our way. Since it's already 5 p.m, he said let's just buy dinner so nobody needs to stress about what to eat or cook.
The moment we stepped out, we saw a crowd running in our direction, more like something was chasing them due to the situation on ground. We did not wait to ask why they were running; instead, we joined them in the race. When we were far enough, we asked one guy why they were running; he said he saw people running and started running too 😂. We just looked for a restaurant nearby and purchased food,we did not bother going to our favorite spot. Till date, we still couldn't find out what made us run over 400 meters.
