Dining with family:An irreplaceable experience

    Having a loving, caring and understanding family is one outstanding union that cannot be bought with money, neither can it be paid for in order to sustain the easy and unexplainable humor that flows among the family members.
    The beautiful thing about family is being happy and having fun-filled moments together as well as exciting and memorable moments together.

    Family is beautiful when there is unity and cooperation, sharing both happy and sad moments together and also having love-feast (dining together) as a family. There is one unique thing i admire so much about my family when we dine together, it brings this joyous atmosphere where there is so much laughter, excitement, peacefulness and unity, and it is about this unusual confidence that you are loved and you have people who cares about you.

    As life is all about creativity, the same is applicable in preparing meals, the beautiful experience of dining with my family is tasting something different from their regular meal, trying another recipe makes it fun-filled. In Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, most of us believe in eating our locally made food, like Ekpang Nkukwo (water yam porridge), Otoi Mboro (banana porridge), Asa Iwa (cassava porridge), Afang soup and other local delicacies aside from rice, beans and other common delicacies, but trying a recipe like combining three different vegetables aside from the normal procedure used in preparing it was a fantastic experience for me.

    As an Akwa Ibomite, I love trying new recipes in most of my delicacies, apart from the regular Afang and water leaf soup (vegetable soup) I always love preparing, I decided to try something new, so i plugged another kind of vegetable (Editan) to combine with the Afang and water leaf i always prepare, as first i was scared that it would be bitter because the second vegetable (Editan) is always very very bitter so i had to take my time and wash it thoroughly before adding it to the Afang, and after combining them, the outcome was amazing, i was surprised that it could be that delicious since that was the first time of combining such.

    I was celebrated because nobody had ever tasted such a yummy and delicious meal before, so we ate together with excitement and that was really amazing, my heart was filled with joy and fulfilment because I have been able to make something different from our normal recipe which is (Afang and waterleaf). Apart from that, I love trying other new recipes with our local delicacies, because we are core Nigerian (Akwa Ibomite precisely)🫣.

    Oftentimes we take ourselves out for special treats, just to have fun and enjoy another kind of food outside the homemade meal, and that creates other exciting memories in our heart, but often we love preparing our food at home.

    Trying out new recipes, dining as a one big and joyful family is one thing that cannot be bought, so i treasured every single moment I spend with my family, because most of the memories last a lifetime, and it is irreplaceable.
