Because the stories in books are better than when you see them captured on the screen?, of course each one gives his touch, his style, but they always end up changing everything, and when you see it, you expect to find the same story, but very rarely happens like that.
Recently I decided to watch this miniseries called The Fall of the House of Usher, this story is based on one of the famous stories by Edgar Allan Poe, although I did not know this story, after watching the series, I decided to look it up, and well, as I said, certain similarities, but it is not the real story.
Plot
In this series we will see the CEO of a famous pharmaceutical company, which faces accusations of corruption, while his children die in a brutal and mysterious way; it takes place in the Usher Mansion, with gothic style and dark.
This is a modern story, with some similar characters, and some new ones, based on the same atmosphere of terror and suspense.
¿Porque las historias en los libros resultan mejores que cuando lo ves plasmado en la pantalla?, claro cada uno le da su toque, su estilo, pero siempre terminan cambiando todo, y cuando lo ves, te esperas encontrar el mismo relato, pero muy rara vez sucede asi.
Hace poco me decidí a ver esta miniserie denominada La caída de la Casa Usher, dicha historia está basada en uno de los famosos cuentos de Edgar Allan Poe, aunque desconocía un poco este relato, después de ver la serie, decidí buscarlo, y bueno, como dije, ciertas similitudes, pero no es la historia real.
Argumento
En esta serie veremos al director ejecutivo de una famosa empresa farmacéutica, la cual se enfrenta a acusaciones de corrupción, mientras sus hijos mueren de forma brutal y misteriosa; la misma se desarrolla en la Mansión Usher, con este estilo gótico, y oscuro.
Esta es una historia moderna, con algunos personajes similares, y otros nuevos, basado en el mismo ambiente de terror y suspenso.
Now let's talk about the similarities, as I mentioned the story takes place in the Usher house, as main characters, we have the two twin siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher, on the other hand, the disturbing atmosphere, terrifying, dark, gothic, which triggers a series of doubts, suspense, and drama.
All those little details, that make the series a little entertaining, and I say a little, because the truth, to be honest, it didn't impact me much, I expected a little more, I got carried away by the trailer, and by some reviews, but well, as they say over there, it's a matter of taste and style.
Ahora hablemos de las similitudes, como mencione la historia se desarrolla en la casa Usher, como personajes principales, se tiene a los dos hermanos gemelos Roderick y Madeline Usher, por otra parte, la atmosfera inquietante, terrorífica, oscura, gótica, la cual desencadena una serie de dudas, suspenso, y drama.
Todos esos pequeños detalles, que hacen la serie un poco entretenida, y digo un poco, porque la verdad, para serles sincera, no me impacto mucho, esperaba un poco más, me deje llevar por el tráiler, y por algunas reseñas, pero bueno, como dicen por allí, es cuestión de gusto y estilo.
But this is normal, we usually get an idea of something, and it is rarely what we think; I'm not saying it was bad, but not Poe's masterpiece, a terrifying story, needs more terror, suspense, the story includes supernatural elements, and if in the series we can see some supernatural scene, I felt it lacked, but take into account that it is based on a modern story, hence, those empty spaces compared to the real story.
The first scenes show some intrigue and curiosity, the presence of a mysterious woman, with a dark secret, involving the family.
Pero esto es normal, solemos hacernos una idea de algo, y rara vez suele ser lo que pensamos; no digo que fue mala, pero tampoco la obra maestra de Poe, una historia terrorífica, necesita más terror, suspenso, el cuento incluye elementos sobrenaturales, y si en la serie podemos ver alguna escena sobrenatural, igual sentí que le falto, pero tomemos en cuenta, que la misma, es basada en una historia moderna, de allí, esos espacios vacíos comparados con el cuento real.
Las primeras escenas muestran algo de intriga y curiosidad, la presencia de una mujer misteriosa, con un oscuro secreto, donde involucra a la familia.
In summary, the series covers a certain part of history and modernizes it, it keeps its gothic part, in some way, we will see the decadence and fatality of the Usher family, the life of the brothers, and their mysteries.
A great scenography, good performances, makeup and costumes; do not expect a great horror story, because you will not find it, it is entertaining, of course, but it does not go beyond that, just to watch it for a while and that's it.

En resumen, la serie abarca cierta parte de la historia y la moderniza, mantiene su parte gótica, de alguna forma, veremos la decadencia, y fatalidad de la familia Usher, la vida de los hermanos, y sus misterios.
Una gran escenografía, buenas actuaciones, maquillaje y vestuario; no esperen una gran historia de terror, porque no la encontraran, es entretenida, por supuesto, pero no pasa de allí, solo para verla un rato y ya.
