Thinking In Dollars

Having been in crypto for over 6 years the one difference that I have noticed is I think in dollars and not Rand's which is our local currency. It is probably not that surprising because thinking in Rand's is kind of depressing and if you had to relocate to a country in Europe you would need ruck loads and in many ways is low value alt coin if one had to do a comparison.

Funny thing is I sold my Tron because I thought it was garbage yet it is worth twice the Rand so what does that say about the Rand?

You may laugh, but 1 ZAR is the equivalent to $0.055C which is like an alt Coin ad I was thinking of something like Tron (TRX), but no Tron is worth double that of the Rand which makes it even scarier. The HIVE token is nearly 4 x more valuable than the Rand which puts things into perspective and we know HIVE will still go up in value from here so you have to see the Rand as a proper shit coin not worth very much and it will only keep on depreciating.

I do get it when people ask you how much your portfolio is worth and when you tell them even though it means very little to yourself they are amazed. They are doing the conversions in their head and yet when I see $70 K or $50K I am not converting to Rand because my crypto will never see the light of day in SA and is not being spent here ever.

Thankfully I have choices for off ramps and will find a few more as a priority over the coming months. Paying 40% in taxes is not an option I would ever consider especially knowing there are better legal options elsewhere. We have all worked too hard, ok maybe some of us have lol in order to just give it away.

Those of you living and earning the Dollar, Pound and Euro don't quite understand the advantages you really have over everyone else and it is significant. Whatever we hold as savings and local investments are only losing in value to what you have in comparison and why crypto helps to level the playing field some what. On crypto we are all equal due to being measured against the dollar and we see or should I say the countries with currencies that hold no or little value is what gives us hope for the future.

Over the next 5 or 10 years who knows where the Rand will be valued at and what type of equivalent crypto would be a good comparison. Maybe VET at $0.025c each of which my target is 100K and is only a $2.5K investment which for some would be well over 1 years salary in SA. I am at the stage now where I am making decent headway with my crypto daily earnings and this will only be more noticeable if I had to compare to the Rand equivalent.

For myself I think it makes perfect sense to think in dollars knowing that is where the crypto portfolio value lies over the coming years and will dwarf whatever my properties are worth in Rand.
