Mabuhay, Hivers ! ๐ It's me the one and only NatsSsssh!. Whoops before anything else How Are you ?. Hope you all had a great day and full of energy because you all about to read a long... Long... Journey about how we strolled around The Fort San Pedro.๐ฅฐ
Did you remember my last post was about the trip in the beautiful Casa Gorordo in Cebu City with my girlfriend. Well, our historical escape did not end there. ๐ We decided to keep the trip going and went to another famous spot The Fort San Pedro. ๐ฐ๏ธ

this is the old Fort San pedro
Fort San Pedro is located right in Cebu City making it super easy to find. It is close within Plaza Independencia a public square that is perfect for a easy going stroll or a romantic picnic.
I don't take photos with me since this trip was for our school purposes for our history class
Of course we could not resist snapping a photo in front of the Fort San Pedro signage. It is like a ritual passage for any visitor, right ?. The entrance itself is a sight to behold with its grand arch way and hitorical walls whispering tales of centuries past. You can tell they have done a fantastic job preserving this historical gem.
Today the Fort San Pedro is one of the popular tourist spot here in Cebu, so we had to wait in line to get our tickets to get inside the fort San Pedro. But don't worry we were not bored for a second because they have this awesome display of artifacts and information about the history of Cebu and The Fort San Pedro itself. It was like a mini museum right there in the waiting area ๐.

Did you know that the Fort San Pedro is the oldest Spanish fort in the Philippines.๐ฎ It was originally built in the 16th century as a defense against pirates and other invaders. The first fort was actually made of wood but the time goes by the Fort San Pedro rebuilt using stone to make it stronger. It is amazing to think about all the history that has unfolded within those walls.
Once we got inside it was like stepping back in time aside from that the Fort San Pedro is remarkably well preserved with its thick walls, sturdy, structures, and also cannons still standing guard. We wandered through the different rooms each one holding a piece of history.
One of the highlights was a small room filled with historical paintings. These paintings portray scenes from Cebu's past and giving us a glimpse into the lives of the people who lived and worked within the fort. It was like a visual history lesson to us ๐.
We also climbed the stairs to the second floor, in which we could see the entire fort included the Plaza Independencia and even the other parts of the city beyond. It was like we were transported back in time witnessing the fort in its full glory. You could almost imagine soldiers patrolling the walls and cannons firing in the distance.
Even though our visit was relatively short we still learned so much about the history of Fort San Pedro and its significance in Cebu's story. It is a reminder of the resilience and strength of the Filipino people who have faced countless challenges throughout history.
Since the rain is starting to drop we decided to go on to our next destination and I will be sharing it on my next adventureโบ๏ธ
So, if you are ever in Cebu City, make sure to add Fort San Pedro to your itinerary. It is a journey back in time and a chance to connect with history and a reminder of the strength and resilience of the Filipino people and if you are visiting with your special someone it is also a pretty romantic spot ๐
That's the end of today journey hope you like it. ๐ฉต May God bless you all bye ๐.
