🌳 Birdwatcher's Log : 07.05.24 🐦

Oh, really, I finally got out into the forest!

But I still need to get to the forest, and the path lies through an old cemetery, which is always full of birds.

Of course it's full of great tits. For example, a male sings a song.

Despite the warm weather, some waxwings are still flying from the south back to the north.

Thrushes are very fond of the old cemetery; there are always a lot of them here, unlike the forest itself. The photo shows a redwing thrush.

Chaffinch. Surely! What would a forest be without these famous singers?

Goldfinches were also in the cemetery, they were flying in pairs.

Redstarts are shy as always in the spring; it was difficult to take a photo.

The nuthatch flew in to deal with its competitor. It was I who turned on the voices of these birds on the speaker.

Two wrynecks sang a song while sitting on different trees.

Well, of course, fieldfare thrushes. They walked on the ground and pulled out worms.

It was possible not to leave the cemetery and stay there, but I had a planned route. I reached the forest.

Willow warblers are singing in full swing in the forest.

And tree pipits roam the ground in search of fat caterpillars.

This black kite was running away from two gray crows.

    I reached the river.

Look at this! The beavers are back! They were gone for 5 whole years! The last time they were here was in February 2019.

I saw a purple frog near the river.

The robin sang her melancholy beautiful song.

A Siberian chiffchaff was jumping on the ground collecting building materials for its nest.

Stopped to rest and have lunch.

For lunch I had MRE, pasta with beef.

On the descent of the hill, in the bushes, I saw a strange picture. A pied flycatcher and a willow tit were sitting on the same bush. The flycatcher jumped from branch to branch and sang a song, and the tit just sat motionless and rested.

I went down to the swamp.

And there in the swamp I met a bird that I saw for the first time. This is a Eurasian teal.

Pulsatilla patens grows on the hillside.

Thank you for watching to the end!
