As a sweet lover, I always love anything made in a simple way of course from natural ingredients that is used as a special dessert during certain events. Today I will invite you to prepare one of these recipes!.




    Steamed Pumpkin Fla Coconut Milk

    Steamed pumpkin fla santan is a combination of steamed pumpkin then doused with sweet coconut milk fla with a creamy and soft texture resulting in a delicious dessert. In addition to its delicious taste, this dish has a very beautiful color so that when served it seems attractive and of course anyone who sees it will definitely try it.




    Ingredients Used

    100 grams of pumpkin
    1 pandan leaf
    200 ml thick coconut milk
    30 grams of grated coconut
    50 grams of granulated sugar
    1 tablespoon cornstarch
    1 teaspoon salt




    Making Procedure


    Step 1


    First I take the pumpkin then peel the hard outer skin of the pumpkin until it is clean.

    Step 2


    Cut the pumpkin into small pieces, then wash it thoroughly then marinate it with enough salt for a while.

    Step 3


    Then steam until cooked along with grated coconut.

    In another pot I prepare coconut milk then add cornstarch stirring until evenly distributed and add salt.

    Step 5


    Add sugar then stir everything and also add the pandan leaves that have been concluded.

    Step 6


    Cook until boiling and the coconut milk thickens perfectly marked by boiling.

    Results and Serving Suggestions


    I arranged the cooked pumpkin on a serving plate then added grated coconut on top. Now the special coconut milk fla is poured over the pumpkin then the dessert is ready to be enjoyed.

    The fresh pumpkin with the grated coconut and fresh coconut milk gave a great flavor. How I scooped the pumpkin with the fla at once and started tasting. Majis, savory and most importantly the pumpkin is perfectly cooked and very soft, the pumpkin flavor is very authentic. The flavor was also just right maybe because of the salt that I added in the pumpkin before steaming so that the pumpkin has the right flavor.

    I highly recommend this dessert for you to serve at home as a dish for family gatherings. Now you need to know that this recipe is actually inspired by a traditional menu that is often enjoyed in my village, namely pumpkin enjoyed with grated coconut.
