The bird's long legs are designed to go down into shallow water to catch prey. The bird is very timid. The design of the bird's body is such that it can easily hide in nature. Some bird hunters hunt this bird and sell it or eat its meat. Climate change and human hostility have greatly reduced the number of birds.
